

Director of music and Girls ministry
Morningside Baptist is a Southern Baptist affiliated church in a season of Spirit-led revitalization, seeking a committed and multi-gifted Director of Music and Girls Ministry. This role combines leadership in Christ-exalting worship with the launch of a vibrant, outreach-focused ministry to middle and high school girls.
The church is dedicated to resourcing this ministry with practical support and spiritual partnership. This is an excellent opportunity for someone called to serve who desires to grow in experience and impact while serving in a flexible, mission-driven setting.
primary responsibilities
Music Ministry (65%)

Plan and lead weekly congregational worship in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and existing pianist.

Lead vocally and/or with an instrument (e.g., guitar, keyboard); piano playing is not required.

Select biblically and theologically faithful songs for worship that fit a multigenerational church context. We currently sing traditional hymns and contemporary hymns (Getty, City Alight, Matt Boswell, etc.). We are open to other music and variety of styles.

Rehearse as needed with any additional vocalists or instrumentalists (likely Sunday AM only).

Oversee worship-related logistics such as slides, service transitions, and sound support.

Explore outreach opportunities through music (e.g., music nights, group lessons, children’s music outreach).
Girls Ministry (35%)

Assist in launching a gospel-centered ministry for middle and high school girls (grades 6–12), focusing on discipleship, spiritual formation, and belonging.

Teach regularly on Sunday mornings, lead occasional Wednesday gatherings, and coordinate special events and outings throughout the year.

Build meaningful relationships with teen girls through personal discipleship and outreach in the surrounding community.

Coordinate with the Senior Pastor and male leaders directing young men’s ministry to ensure a unified and intentional youth ministry approach.

Communicate and collaborate with the Director of Children to provide smooth age transitions and consistent ministry strategy.

Qualifications:

Female applicants can be single or married.

A growing disciple of Jesus with a clear testimony of saving faith.

Strong agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and SBC mission and values.

Ability to lead worship vocally and/or with an instrument in a way that encourages congregational participation.

A heart for discipling teen girls and connecting with unchurched youth in the community.

Current ministry or music students are encouraged to apply; training and mentoring will be supported.
Compensation and Benefits:

Work Hours: 6–8 hours per week

Base Compensation: $75 per week (future increases)

Fuel and meal reimbursement for ministry-related travel and events

Book allowance for current students

Use of church piano and facilities for private music lessons to generate income.

Church-sponsored lesson fees available for hardship cases (generating additional income and outreach opportunities).
